Is 99.5 a low grade fever?!
Question: Is 99.5 a low grade fever?
Answers:
Normal temps are considered now as 97 to 99 degrees. Doctor's do not get concerned unless your temperature rises over 100. The body tends to fluxuate too much due to temps you are experiencing in home, outside, whether you are active or passive so though normal is 98.6 for the most part it isn't that in some people. My normal is 97 so it could be lowgrade in some people and not in others. If you just took a shower or bath it would be higher than normal and if you just got out of the lake it would be lower than normal so nothing to be concerned about unless you are also having other symptoms with it. Then see your doctor.
98.6 F (37 C) is the oral temperature that most physicians, nurses, laypersons, and medical references state is "normal."
An oral temperature greater than 99.5 F is considered a fever. Interestingly, adults tend to run lower fevers than children.
Yes that is low. Normal is about 96-97. You are fine. Still a little fever though.
Yes, it's not too bad.
