Am I eligible for a medical marijuana Card?!

Question: Am I eligible for a medical marijuana Card?
I live in A state where medical marijuana is legal...I have tourrette's syndrome and tics with that. I'm already on meds (Zoloft and Klonopin), so do you think it would be stupid or dumb to ask my psychiatrist about getting myself a medical marijuana card? And im younger than 18. Do I qualify and should I ask my doc? Thanks for all answers and help.

Answers:

i believe under 18 you need a parent to consent. Tourrettes sounds like a legitimate reason for wanting a card. ive heard of people getting them for stupid reasons, it really depends on your state and how strict they are and your doctors view on marijuana. If you really want one i would talk to your doctor and tell him your are not comfortable taking all the man made pills and you would rather use something herbal.

It might not work if you ask a psychiatrist. Cannabis can exacerbate any underlying conditions and someone who understands the effect of mental illness will not look past that. I can't be certain though.

It can't hurt to ask, can it? You could always pull the whole "It made me feel better when I did it and for a little while after" card.

Much safer than drinking or cigarettes. Be proud of yourself. Anyone who says otherwise needs to do some reading up about it. I've had family killed by alcohol. The ones who smoke and eat Cannabis are the professors and doctors in my family.

Be smart.

Edit:
Thanks, I appreciate that! It's not my real name (actually quite the farthest thing from it) so I can totally protect my identity. So I don't mind if you misspell it, haha :]
It didn't take much to be enlightened, just some legitimate two-sided research. Weighed the pros and cons and found out the truth for myself. Maybe one day cannabis will be decriminalized all over the United States.

your doc recommends you what you need...you cant just ask for it if its not approved to be a prescription for you disease...if it is then yes you can ask
