IRON ANEMIA? quick easy Q bout something (10pts)?!

Question: IRON ANEMIA? quick easy Q bout something (10pts)?
I am anemic and have to take iron supplements twice a day every day (breakfast and dinner.) Yesterday I did not take it at dinner time but I did at breakfast. I had it at break fast today but not dinner. Skipping
2/4 pills in two days. Will I start feeling dizzy and weak by tonight? Or will it not do anything? I would continue taking it regularly tomorrow. THANK YOU

Answers:

Skipping some iron supplements will not make you feel dizzy or weak. It will not have any effect at all, except if you skip them regularly, it will take longer for your iron levels and stores to come back up to normal.

One suggestion to improve the absorption of the iron you take, is to take them with a glass of orange juice. Vitamin C has been proven to increase iron absorption in the body.

There are usually directions that come with the pills regarding this type of thing. Also, you can always call the pharmacist, which is more direct than waiting for the doctor. If you are eating correctly now, more red meat, you should be fine. Just, never take more than the required dosage. It is important to have enough iron but not more, and, to have the blood monitored regularly. I was anemic as a child and took one pill a day, probably due to my small size. With the onset of the menses, I made sure to eat red meat and organ meat, like dare I say, calves liver. I have not been anemic since childhood. Put an alarm in your phone to remind you. Don't leave the house without a few pills in the container, so you won't forget again.

There is a chance but no real way of knowing until tonight..
