this whole week i had no sleep. i cant take sleeping pills because im to young. im not not gonna read before and i dont have milk

Answers:

The more it’s driving you crazy, the less you can sleep. You need to relax. Do something boring, like watch TV but a crappy show that you don’t care about or the same movie over, and over, and over again or some stupid infomercial.

Don’t drink milk or eat anything, the last thing you need is your stomach digesting and growling.

Try lavender. The smell of lavender is very soothing. Some people even eat lavender to help them sleep (capsules), I go only as far as using lavender body wash, lavender hand lotion in the evening and dry lavender under my pillow (in the pillowcase)...smells good too. Get a baby crib toy, open it, empty it and put lavender it there then sew it back and sleep with it...you’ll feel like a baby with...whatever you name that thing!
I use a great lavender moisturizing hand lotion ...L'Occitane, so each time my hands gets near my face, it smells so good that I take an automatic deep breath, and I think the relaxed breathing is what relaxes me and makes me fall asleep...just my theory...plus the boring TV that I turn off to listen to my cat purring. Just the turning off of the TV is like "yeah! at last! and I'm out.

So the smell of lavender combined with a boring TV show, as complete darkness and silence is sometimes worse than the TV if you need something to overcome your mind.
You can also try meditation...yoga...stretching, this or that.

Lucky for you that you’re too young to take sleeping pills. You would sleep for a while, but not get the kind of restful sleep that you need, to wake up refreshed, but the kind where you’re out for a few hours without even dreaming and then feel like a zombie all day long, having to raise your eyebrows just to keep your eyes opened, looking like a mentally challenged person with your mouth opened or like you had too much to drink. Really, you get a flash nap on the sofa because you haven’t slept for days and people just think you’re drunk and passed out, especially if you’re using alcohol as a night cap so you smell of booze.

Then your body adjusts to the meds, so now you’re popping pills for 2 hours shut down (you don’t even call that “sleep” anymore”) so you’re back to square one except that now you have to take meds. Then you stop the meds (when enough is enough) and you cannot sleep but can flash nap any time so you cannot drive. It’s like being a narcoleptic.

Sleeping pills are great when you go through a crisis and cannot get your mind to shut up and cannot stand it anymore all night long. So you take a pill and awaken a few hours later, not rested, but with the knowledge that you did not have to endure your mind for those 2 to 4 hours, facing another day.

Personally, I haven’t slept yet and it’s 11am and I’m fine because this was one of my sleepless nights that I get from time to time in order to sleep better the other times. I take note of my sleep hours and I get a sleepless night farther and farther apart (I’m at every 6 days now). The rest of the time, I sleep well, not altogether yet (I have short nights and naps) but each time I wake up after more than 3 hours, without any meds, I’m happy as a lark.

Also I don’t know if you have a cat, but listening to the purring of my cat sleeping on my bed is the sound that puts me to sleep, the opposite of the birds chirping in the morning that wake me up. I haven’t slept last night and my cat was not on my bed anytime...she senses when I’ll have a sleepless night and sleep somewhere else (maybe so I don’t have to look at her sleeping and envy her or because I won’t need her purring as I won’t sleep).

Edit:
Take note of your sleeping patterns.
You could doze off for a couple of hours and not even realize it as you’re still tired when waking up and it seems like you closed your eyes for only a minute.
I have a piece of paper and a pen (I’m old school) and jot down the time at least once every hour. Sometimes I look at the paper and the last time I wrote was 2 or 3 hours ago and I don’t even remember having slept and the 3 hours sci-fi movie I was watching ended so I rewind and realized I fell asleep 10 minutes into it.

It’s somewhat a comfort to know that when you’re thinking that you’re not sleeping, just because you don’t sleep at night, you’re still sleeping, unbeknownst to you.

There are natural pills you can get too. I use Valerian Root which helps with not being able to sleep. It works great with no side effects (unless you're allergic to that root but most people aren't). To be honest, I have trouble sleeping too, but that's because I'm used to sleeping with my boyfriend & when he's not there, it's hard to sleep, so I snuggle with a teddy bear instead (yes, I'm 20 & snuggling with a teddy bear, but it's better than nothing for me). I also crack open a window to let a breeze in at night with some cool air. I used to use a fan blowing on me in my room to help me sleep, but I'm trying to go green so I just open a window instead.

You either play too many video games or you watch too much action TV. Too much entertainment can affect your sleeping pattern and you must not have any entertainment as such at least 2 hours before bedtime as the interaction is still heavily integrating in your brain. You need to have a small meal like toast or a cup of hot chocolate, or a glass of water a half hour before bedtime then when you lay in bed think of some place that you would like to be, that would be nice to live.

Something that helps me to sleep is relax your thoughts, what I mean is think nothing. put your mind blank. the way this goes is: repeat yourself, nothing, nothing, nothing empty blank do this for about ten minutes and then you just fall asleep. I hope this will work for you because I know how you must be feeling.
