Question: What is anxiety? i'm confused and think i might have it.?
does it mean panic attacks?
or just extreme worry?
or both or either of the above?
or other?

Answers:

It can be specific...related to one or another event...I am worried about a test, for example.

Or, non-specific....I just feel anxious, or edgy all the time...like something bad is going to happen.

Each kind is possible to find meds to "take the edge" off. Much alcohol abuse and other self-prescribed soothers are attempts to "self medicate". If your problem keeps on happening, it is not a crime to ask your Doctor for some help.

Panic attacks are very frightening...and can be overcome with counseling. Learn some techniques to keep them from happening, and you will feel more "in control" of your own emotions. I neglected to suggest learning some natural "worry" cures, like talking to a friend, taking a walk, relaxing...

These should be the first thing to try, before turning to medication. Good luck with it; suffering is no fun.



Anxiety is just being edgy or worried about things all the time, constantly worried about something or worried that something could happen. Panic attacks can become parts of bad anxiety. If you're worried about it then talk to your doctor about it :)



It could be both or just one of the above.
