Smoking weed and synesthesia...?!

Question: Smoking weed and synesthesia...?
When I smoke weed I can taste colors. It's strange and has never happened when I'm sober (I don't smoke much, sometimes just to help my anxiety). However one time when I was really exhausted, I had just woke up and took a shower (I never smoked at this time in my life and wasn't high at the time of course) and I could hear colors (the sound of the splashing of the water made colors) but this has never come back.

I've noticed for a very long time that I'm very visual and very good with colors, patterns, and numbers. I was wondering if smoking just intensifies specific mental abilities or if it brings new ones out: any guesses? I know weed is not studied much.

I don't really like smoking, but specific side effects are intriguing me -- is there any way to build on these synesthetic abilities without weed?

If you think smoking weed is bad for you and having nothing constrictive to say nor can answer my questions, then don't leave a comment.

Answers:

You have some special abilities that very few people have and that you can maybe develop. I have been smoking weed (not a lot) for over forty years and have never experienced what you have. You may have a future in artistic endeavors. Look into meditation.
