I have low blood iron and my hair is falling out...will iron supplements help?!

Question: I have low blood iron and my hair is falling out...will iron supplements help?
I am on the verge of anemia, i recently had a blood test done and my blood iron levels are below the minimum amount needed to be healthy. My hair is falling out HEAPS. And it's freaking me out, because i naturally have rather thick hair, but over the past month it's started to thin alarmingly. I know it's not because of a thyroid condition, because i also had that tested and i'm in the clear.

I don't eat much red meat, although i try to add it into some meals. Iron supplements are my only option as i've had low iron levels for years, and changing my diet hasn't helped at all. Will supplements work? How long do i have to take them to see a difference?

Thanks.

Answers:

Back in the day I had anemia due to bulimia " no longer " and the doctor had given me a iron supplement. I think everything turned out all good.. and I stopped taking it and im all good and my hair is still strong and plush.. full of life.

you may not need to take them, simply just eat red meat for every single meal, ribeyes and stuff can be VERY tasty.

I'm not sure how long u need to take the supplements but iron and vitamin c is good for your hair
