Why is the selling of kidneys prohibited? I have a perfectly good kidney I don&#!

Question: Why is the selling of kidneys prohibited? I have a perfectly good kidney I don't really need that could save?
someone's life....

Doesn't it just make sense to sell it?

I don't want auctions held by families for people in a coma, but if I'm mentally fit and make the decision for myself, shouldn't I have the right?

Answers:

Legally speaking, the Donor Act makes it illegal to sell organs for profit. The problem is not whether you are mentally fit, but if this was allowed, people would go into the business of selling others organs, which would then result in people having their organs harvested illegally. Also, the poor would be at a disadvantage simply because they need the money and will eventually take what they can get for an organ. There are so many black market issues that illegality makes sense to side step these issues.

If you're really motivated to save someone's life, you would just give the kidney.

Bad, bad, bad! Kidneys have feelings, too!

Bahahahaaaaa..............lmfaooo
