Can you ever wash your hands TOO much?!

Question: Can you ever wash your hands TOO much?
Hi,
I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question, but if it does, please bare with me.
Recently, I've found that I've been washing my hands a lot lately for a few reasons:
1. To avoid getting sick
2. Everytime I wash my face (Otherwise rubbing my oily hands all over it kinds defeats the purpose)
3. I have to practice touching my eye before I can get contacts (I'm trying to overcome my squeamishness) and it would be stupid to do so with dirty hands.

ANYWAY- I've found that I've washed my hands 3 times within a few hours, and was wondering if anything negative could result from this.

Thank you very much! :)

Answers:

Yes, you can wash your hands too much. But I don't think you are overdoing it by any means.

uh your skin produces natural oils, oils that keep the skin from cracking, braking, etc. Washing your hands with soap would remove said oils, and there have been reports where people with OCD that wash their hands excessivly (like one every 15 mins) ended up in the hospital because their hand was literally bleeding from the dry cracked-ness. So maybe just tone it down a bit....
