What does the term "lobotomy vegetable" mean?!

Question: What does the term "lobotomy vegetable" mean?
People say that some one is now like a vegetable after lobotomy, what does that mean?

Answers:

I'm going to take a guess and say you saw Sucker Punch. The movie doesn't clarify too well, but what I found out was that it is something to so with affecting your frontal lobe, which deals with memory. A 'lobotomized vegetable' means they are in a vegetive state, which means unresponsive, like a living coma.

lobotomy means remval of a certain part of the brain, whih was in fashion for "crazy people" for a while.
It stopped the people from acting crazy, but also stopped them from virtually everything else. Lobotomised people tended to not do or want anything anymore, behaving like a vegetable. Apathy.

Fortunately they don't do it anymore, since there are some psychiatric medications (though they haven't figured out which ones will work on which patients exactly) now. Too much of them can make patients behave like vegetables too, but at least that's reversable

It means the neurosurgeon hammered the icepick too far into your skull and wiggled it around too much causing extreme damage to your brain.

It means there alive, but brain dead
