GIRLS ANSWERS: My friend isn't eating, HELP!?!

Question: GIRLS ANSWERS: My friend isn't eating, HELP!?
My friend is 17 years old, she's average height (5"5) and was already average weight (120lbs). Not to mention she is, and always has been very fit: she's a runner, swimmer etc. She's very pretty, many guys lust over her, no joke! and she has tons of confidence, flirts quite a bit ; P but is a very sweet person.

Anyways... She's been acting very strange lately ever since she's started having this huge crush on this "player"; who I don't care so much for. She's stopped eating just about every kind of food. The girls that this guy goes for a quite thin; way to thin actually! way underweight. And I have a feeling she's trying to be like them so he will fall for her. Now she's starting to go on a diet, only eats a few snacks a day. And works out like crazy; she's actually obsessed over working out. Constantly running and doing other active activities, but never eats food after working out. She started with not eating any meat, made excuses saying "I dont like the fact that animals are being killed". So she moved from that to only fruits and veggies. She doesnt drink milk, only soy milk. Now she only eats a few slices of cheese, and some carrots throughout the day. Worst part of it all, her bestfriend "girlfriend" is encouraging her, and has decided to diet just like her.

It had been two weeks since i had seen her (just saw her today), and her once tight skinny jeans, are now very loose around her waist, thighs, etc. Im very scared for her, and I don't know what to say to her, im really scared that i will affend her if i do say anything, knowing girls are very sensitive when it comes to their weight. What/how should i say something to her.HELP!!!

It may be hard, but you need to confront your friend and tell her how worried you are. She needs to realize it's wrong to change looks and risk health and wellbeing just for some dude she probably won't even like a few months from now. If she really likes him she should have stayed herself.
Or if you're to nervous to talk to her or it just makes you uncomfortable, then talk to your school counselor-- or even your friends parents.

You are a good friend for being concerned about her. Good luck

most girls would rather you tell it to them strait so that is what you should do tell her up front that she needs to eat more or she may be so unhealthy she can't see the guy she likes

Tell her that she's gaining weight. That should put an end to her eating problem.

Yes, ask her where her body has gone?
Tell her her face is looking too skinny and old looking and her boobs seem to be shrinking away to nothing. Tell her that too much dieting makes a girl look like a sickly bag of bones.
Look, the only way is to be honest, whether or not she listens (or cares) is up to her but if you think she's losing all her good attributes, then tell her.
Ps girls are paranoid about the very thought of their boobs shrinking away, so if anything is going to get her eating a proper diet, that will!
