Where can I get free/low cost ADULT vaccinations in houston?!

Question: Where can I get free/low cost ADULT vaccinations in houston?
I am a student and will be applying for a health care program at my college in June. I need to get one dose each of the MMR and Tdap vaccines prior to applying. I do not currently work and do not have the money to spend on vaccines (or titers to test immunity). Is there a place in Houston that I can go that offers free or low-cost vaccines for adults?

Answers:

Google "federally qualified health centers texas". One result there contains a list of all the centers in Texas. Click on Houston, and it lists the centers there. These centers see anyone who comes in the door, regardless of ability to pay. They take Medicaid, (and help with paperwork if you qualify), and have a sliding-scale fee for low-income patients (our local health center starts at $20 a visit). These are full service clinics, and they administer vaccines. You can get all the information from the websites. There is a good chance that you qualify for Medicaid. When my son was in college, he had the medical insurance offered by the college - you might check that out for future needs.

Please check out the FQHCs. There are over 1300 in the US, existing through federal and private grants. Don't believe the politicians who say that some people are without health care in our great country.

Husband is on the board of our local FQHC
