What can cause random passing out and muscle spasms?!

Question: What can cause random passing out and muscle spasms?
My girlfriend has random "spells" where she will pass out, she knows they are coming a couple seconds before hand and can sometimes have me lay her down in time so she doesn't hit the ground. When she does pass out, she can hear everything that is going on. In the beginning she can't move, her muscles tense up to the point where she cuts her hands with her nails. Her jaw is tensed and clinched the whole time, giving her severe headaches. Normally, she is out from anywhere to an hour and a half to three hours. She fights to open her eyes and just can't open them, after awhile she can communicate by moving her arms and pointing and she can sometimes write things down but can't open her eyes. Her breathing is intense at times and she stops breathing for a couple seconds throughout the "spell". After she comes back from this she is so drained and weak from pretty much fighting with herself to come back. She has been to countless doctors and it has happened to her and it was monitored at the hospital but still no answers. Everywhere she goes the questions are never answered. Normally she can sense a possibility of it happening because she gets very week and she gets really hot and starts sweating. If this happens for more than a day, she will most likely pass out within the next couple of days. Please if anyone has any answers to these symptoms, please help us.

Answers:

It sounds like some sort of seizure to be honest. Have you done online research? Try looking up seizures and the symptoms and try to trace possible causes of all of the symptoms and try to find a common cause. Is it triggered? An allergy? Stress? Something in the environment? I wish I could offer more help. It really does sound like some sort of strange seizure but doesn't quite seem to add up to what I'm reading in wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epileptic_seizure
I hope you get some help.
