can you have too much vitamin d?!

Question: Can you have too much vitamin d?
Answers:

Too much sun exposure can lead to cancer due to ultra violet radiation. It is found vitamin D deficiency has been implicated as a major factor in the pathology of at least 17 varieties of cancer as well as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, depression, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, muscle weakness, muscle wasting, birth defects, periodontal disease and more.

Toxicity from vitamin D naturally is impossible as the body regulates the amount of vitamin D produced from sun exposure. Caucasian skin produces approximately 10,000 IU vitamin D in response to 20 - 30 minutes summer sun exposure. It is stated it may be possible to be toxic over 40 000IU in supplement form.

The main consequence of vitamin D toxicity is a buildup of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) causing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, constipation, weakness, confusion, heart rhythm abnormalities, kidney stones. Too much vitamin D supplementation can cause magnesium deficiency. Symptoms of magnesium deficiency include constipation, loss of appetite, generally not feeling well, fatigue, muscle cramps, tremors, pins and needles, back ache, irritability, disturbed sleeping patterns, headaches, bad concentration and psychological changes.

I'm no authority . but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last nite . . only kidding

In regards to Vit D supplements:
I take supplemements and I take vitamin D. . . .Lots by normal standards . .
Usually you read that you should only be taking 1,000iu a day . . . And the reasoning is that you don't want to build up toxic levels .however, many times. people are prescribed 10,000iu a day for bone health for example. I have read that in other countries people take as much as 20,000iu a day . . IDK this to be the case. But I have researched on many occasions info on toxicity of Vitamin D and come up with no studiies that conclude a toxic level for this supplement.

I take 10,000 iu a day and I standardly buy it in 5k to 10k iu gel cap form

Hope this helped
