Is it weird that I'm always thirsty?!

Question: Is it weird that I'm always thirsty?
I'm always thirsty and I drink a lot of water (maybe three to six 16 oz. bottles a day). I've always been this way. I love water.

However, my sister never drinks water. She's never thirsty and is always drinking soda.

If I stop drinking so much water and drink more soda, will I be less thirsty?

Answers:

Nope. You will not be healthier drinking soda. You will not be less thirsty drinking soda. If you find that you're still thirsty after having 96 oz of water every day then you should look into two things. 1) Is it possible that you have allergies which are making your throat dry and sore? It could be that you're not really thirsty; you're just using the water to sooth your throat. 2) You may be lacking in electrolytes. Sometimes you can drink lots of water but still be thirsty because you need electrolytes. That usually happens if you exercise a lot, live somewhere very hot or spend time in hot tubs or saunas. You can try drinking one Gatorade per day. If you just need electrolytes that will take care of it. Don't switch to soda though. Those things are really bad for you.

If you drink soda you will be MORE thirsty; the sugar will make you more thirsty.
Certain foods can make you thirsty. Foods with a lot of salt will definitely make you more thirsty.
Also hot weather makes you more thirsty.
It is better to drink more water than not enough.

first, soda contains caffeine which will dehydrate you and make you thirstier.
you should go get checked out for diabetes. uncontrollable thirst is a symptom
hope that helps
