Quickest method to stop smoking?!


Question: Quickest method to stop smoking?
I would like anyone who has succeeded in stopping smoking to help me out. I have tried and failed miserably twice. I dont want to use patched and i have tried every nicorette solution out there. Everytime i get stressed out (I have 2 Kids) I need to light a cigarette to make myself calm down. I have limited myself to 10 cigarettes a day (I used to smoke 20) Any suggestions on how i can stop and not to think about cigarettes?

I know exactly how you feel.I used to do the same thing...Now,I am using the patches and am doing pretty well so far.I have tried so many times before to try and stop smoking,and with no success of course.
And,so far....doing pretty good.The reason why I'm doing pretty good so far is due to the fact that I've gotten myself prepared ahead of time...mentally speaking.So,that gave me an edge!
You've really cut back on your cigarettes by 10 a day...which is great.So,in your case? And,seeing how your not willing to use the patches/gum...I suggest for you to try lowering your daily cigarettes by about 1 a day,even half a cigarette a day.You might be surprised within a couple of weeks.You never know just how far you'll really go once you actually start lowering your cigarettes a little at a time....day by day,and even half a cigarette at a time even!! Everyone is different when it comes to quitting,and what might work for another person may not work for you.And,what works for you...might not work for someone else.Know what I'm saying here? So...what do you really have to lose by lowering your cigarettes by a little at a time...day by day...half a cigarette at a time.Never know just how far you'll really get.
Anyways...I hope you have great success in which ever way you decide to quit smoking.

And,once you do start to lower your cigarettes? Try to find something/anything to keep your kmind occupied....busy.You need to focus on something other than smoking...little hard to do I know,but once you start to learn how to cope without needing to smoke...it becomes easier day by day.

Great job on limiting yourself to fewer cigarettes!! It just takes lots of "failures" to quit, most people it takes several tries. So don't feel bad, you're well on your way!! You can always try quitting cold turkey, that's the "fastest" but I wouldn't go for that, especially since you smoke 10 a day. I would try smoking five a day or pick some similar number below the 10 you smoke now. Every few months lower the number, until you're smoking a couple a week, etc, and then you can drop it down to none. Good luck!!



i bought a a couple packs of black and mild's and i just smoked till i got satisfied and smoked less and less till i didnt feel the urge anymore
