How will anti-depressants help with my IBS/Diarrhea?!

Question: How will anti-depressants help with my IBS/Diarrhea?
I was prescribed today, how will it work?

Answers:

low doses of tricyclic antidepressants work by altering serotonin levels, the majority of which as in the gut (not in the brain). Seretonin has a role in the movement of intestinal matter . They can be effective in treating IBS patients who have diarrhea, but not recommended for those with constipation.

It won't. Don't take it! If you want to help IBS, eat organics. Helped me within a week! The risks of taking an anti depressant are not worth it.
