Could someone die from Gastric Bypass surgery?!
Question:
Could someone die from Gastric Bypass surgery?
Let's say they had a hysterectomy, survived colon cancer, and has a wire mesh surrounding their stomach because it's broken and they weigh only 250 pounds, but most of that weight is centered around the belly area. Why would a doctor tell them they need Gastric Bypass, and do you think that's safe?
Answers:
If I were to have any surgery for weight loss it would be the lap-band. It's a laproscopic procedure and it can be reversed. The surgery your Dr. mentioned is a big surgery and a lot of people get diarrhea or vomiting after in addition to the fact that yes, a percentage will die. The lap-band is safer.
