yeah you can get iron poisoning you get vomiting diarrhoea abdominal pain or drowsiness within a few hours after six hours the pain decreases and this lull in pain can last between 12-48 hours after this there is a third stage which has more severe side effects like severe shock liver damage hypoglycemia renal failure and sometimes intestinal infarction if the person survives stage 4 begins after about 2-4 weeks when the person begins getting symptoms of GI tract obstruction
the fatal amount of iron is about 180-300mg per kg of body weight
