Are adult diapers the same as infant diapers?!

Question:

Are adult diapers the same as infant diapers?

My girlfiend's best friend and I got into a discussion involving diapers. I was saying that in design and purpose the adult diaper is the same as an infant diaper, only to a larger scale. And she was disagreeing the whole time. So now I'm asking other people in order to bring this discussion to an end.

Answers:

For adults and babies alike there are diapers and pullups. They are all made for the same purpose, to capture urine and feces to keep them in control when the person has no control, such as a baby and some adults like myself.

Now for the differences. Obviously the biggest difference is size and to some extent, shape. The other difference that really makes a difference is that the adult sized diapers by comparison are not as thick as a baby's diaper.

If you were to make an adult diaper by scaling up a baby diaper to fit an adult then the absorbent material would be about two inches thick but instead it is actually thinner than what is in a baby diaper.

You are both right, to a point, but it is a fine point. If you take away the thickness of material then you would definitely be the winner.

If you know someone that has a baby, get a diaper from them or a store brand isn't that expensive, buy a pack. Go to a nursing home and see if they will give you an adult diaper. Explain to them that you are having this discussion and need one for demonstration purposes, I'm sure they will give you one, if not look for sample packs that have one or two in it, they aren't real expensive either.

Then put them side by side for comparison then tape them into a pants shape and compare them and see who wins. The loser has to wear the demo items for being wrong.

Good luck.
