Makeshift hearing aid?!
Question:
Makeshift hearing aid?
I know this is a strange question....
My ear is backed up with earwax. I know it's gross. It's happened before. I had to go to the doctor to fix it and will definitely have to go this time, but I can't get an appointment until the Wednesday-ish. I can hear a little bit through my bad ear, but everything sounds muffled. Does anyone know a good way to make a sort of makeshift hearing-aid, or better yet, a good way to clear it out all together? My doctor recommended Debrox (an earwax removal kid from the drug store) if I ever had this problem again. I bought it and tried it, but still no luck.
Thank you for reading my disgustingly bizarre question.
Answers:
Put a drop of white vinegar into your ear and that will get the wax out. But about the make-shift hearing aid, if you know a little about electronics you can build an amplifier using an LM386 8 pin IC chip with about 4 to 5 parts and put earphones to it and it will amplify any sound around you. Will only cost under $5 bucks to build. Here is a link to a schematic to one, just replace the speaker with earphones... http://www.reprise.com/host/circuits/lm3...
