I have lice. Isn't this perfect?

I've known I've had lice for a couple of months now. I told my parents but they said they didn't see anything and not to worry about it. Well yesterday I went to the dermetalogist who confimed what I've known all along now, I have lice. He prescribed me some stuff to clean my hair with. I did so last night and I used a special comb for about an hour, but I woke up this morning with tons of eggs [or maybe nits?..or maybe both] in my hair. So I spent a good two hours soaking my hair in vinegar and combing my hair with a special comb.
I have a TON of hair. It's THICK and it's long.
I've kept my hair damp with vinegar all day long.

How long will it take until the eggs/nits are gone?
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?
Will I wake up tomorrow and find that there are still eggs/nits in my hair? I read somewhere that I might.
I hate being stuck in the house!

I've washed my sheet and blanket. Got a new pillow. Vacumed my bed and carpet. Got rid of all pony tail holders, head bands, and hair brushes. Washed my clothes and hoodies.

I got lice once (from my cousins), and I also have very thick hair. It took a week or two of the shampoo and constant combing to get rid of them all. My brother just shaved his hair off to fix the problem quick though(this is the fastest option if you don't mind extremely short hair for a while).
