It hurts to cough?
The last couple mornings, I have woken up w/this nasty cough. All morning, I cough up green flem. It hurts my chest when I cough. I am a recent smoker. I quite smoking 2 week ago. Do you think it has anything to do with me quiting smoking? My mom has almost the same thing. She wakes up coughing, but there is no flem with her. She just coughs all morning. We live in the same area. I just want to know if it has something to do with quiting smoking, or if it's just something in the air maybe?

Did you try going to the doctor? Try drinking water often. I used to have horrible coughs that cause me to wake up in the middle of the night and green stuff came out, but i didn't have any history of smoking. The cause of my bad coughs was, because i played with contaminated water (it was squirted into my mouth to my throat by my little brother) i then went to the doctor and he gave me a shot and a prescription. In, about a month i got better. Good luck oh and NOT smoking is GOOD for you!!!! Congratulations on the NOT smoking!!! Knowing that makes me happy.
