Can drinking too much kill you?!

Question:

Can drinking too much kill you?

I was wondering that bc the first time I got drunk (and last time, I swear) I felt so terrible *I was in this bday party from a friend and fairly my first drink was a beer. after that they kept me giving me drinks such as run mixed with coke. After 3 full glass, I started vomiting every-thing. I think i got intoxicated. I didn't go to the hospital cuz I tho i'd felt better but I ended up vomiting all night till next day which it was when I was feeling better.* I felt so depressed that night that it was the reason i started drinking.

anyways, Nowadays I don't tolerated alcohol. I can have just a medium glass of beer and my system feels sick immediately. What should i do? Before I had a small glass of beer and I should had to throw away bc It made me had a headache.

Can drinking kill you? And How?

Answers:

Yes, drinking, passing out, and choking on vomit can kill you. Those are all indirect effects of alcohol killing. Some people mentioned it before...alcohol poisoning, but no one told you what that really means so I will.

Alcohol is just that...a poison, like cyanide, belladonna, arsenic, etc. The only difference is it can take a much longer time to kill you because it can be metabolized (broken down) by the body, slowly (at the cost of your liver). Alcohol is known as a biphasic drug, meaning it has two phases. The first is the phase that every seeks -- the loos of inhibition, the 'high' feeling. But this can only be acheived up to a certain amount of alcohol. If you drink more than this, the body starts to shut down. This is the second phase...when people start to pass out. Those people are inches from death. Alcohol is a depressent...it shuts down the body's systems. Too much of it will cause the heart to slow down enough until it stops between, or slow down breathing until it it just stops altogether.

The body resorts to vomitting when you don't listen to it. That nice tingling feeling you get from drinking? That's your body telling you it's being poisoned. The feeling only happens when the alcohol is entering the blood stream faster than the liver can break it down.

I don't know why you can no longer tolerated alcohol like before, but I would count it as a blessing. Just think of as a way you WON'T die in the end. There are other ways to have fun or relax...you don't need alcohol to do that. There's more information available online at a bunch of resources.

I hope I answered your question!
