Why shouldn't you drink milk or soda when you're sick with a cold or flu?!

Question:

Why shouldn't you drink milk or soda when you're sick with a cold or flu?

Just curious.

Answers:

Milk and dairy products cause more phlegm. With a cold you are already fighting congestions so this worsens the problem. Sodas are generally empty calories, sugar and caffeine, neither of which help boost your immune system. Better to drink water or juices as they hydrate you better. Sport drinks, non-carbonated can be beneficial when you have a cold as they have some minerals and vitamins.
