Treatment of Sunburns?!

Question:

Treatment of Sunburns?

I heard that taking Vitiam C and drinking lots of orange juice helps out with sunburns, along with tons of aloe lotion. Is that true?

Answers:

I have heard that taking vitamin C will help with a sunburn but I have no direct proof in that direction. Vitamin C will help you heal overall, it's a very useful supplement to take every day, not just on occasion. As far as aloe vera goes it definitely is a winner in treating sunburns or any type of minor burns for that matter. One of the best treatments I have found is an after sun lotion, a good brand for that is Banana Boat. Regular lotions have alcohol in them which can make your skin dry out and peel faster, not to mention the pain you'll feel when applying alcohol on sunburned skin. I found that if you are using an after sun lotion, it feels much better to have it slightly refridgerated before you apply it, it's just a comfort thing.

Oh, and it might help if you wore sun screen, you can prevent sunburns completely that way, and skin cancer in the long run.
