Stopped smoking pot, but still stressed... Need advice.?

I stopped smoking 3 weeks ago due to my working starting a new random testing policy in the next month... I smoked one hit from a regular metal pipe once a day. I know that's not much, but it really calmed my nerves and kept me from getting stressed out. I used to have panic attacks, and the doctor gave me lexapro... it completely messed my stomach up to where I could hardly eat for a week. Then they tried Paxil... same result. I was also given Xanax. That worked, but I was a zombie. That is why I went to the one hit a day with pot. That worked great for five years. Now I have been going w/ nothing at all. I get out and exercise (ride my bike, cut the grass, play ball), but I still have the same feelings of anxiety. I have thought about asking for a lower dose of the xanax, because at-least it could calm me, but I really don't want to take something like that every day. And if you’re going to give me the "drugs are bad" spill, save your time, I want advice, not a lecture.

I do try other things that I enjoy, but it is not that enjoyable when I can't shake the stress that I have inside. Alot of it derives from being the only sorce of income for my family of 4, my starting back to school, and having a tree month old baby. We have always had 2 incomes, but now it is just mine and that makes me stress a lot.

I am an old hippie and think that it should be a matter of choice whether you smoke it or not :o), but can understand why you can't because of your job.

I would be interested to know what milligram your xanax is?

If you are taking the blue ones, they are the strongest. I had to take xanax for off and on due to deaths in my family. (one happening right after the other) I was never addicted to them and only took them when I needed them.

I take the white ones still, when I need them. I think they are the .25 milligrams. There are orange ones that are in between the blue and white ones. (in strength)

Heres the thing. You should only take them when you start feeling panicky. If you take them and CAN feel them, then you didn't need it. If you take them and CAN'T feel them, then you took them when you did need it.

Also, if you have the higher milligram xanax, the blue or orange ones, you can always half them. Half a white one is usually good for me when I need something.

You shouldn't need one everyday sweety. Just take them when you feel panicky.

Hope you make it thru this! Just try to keep in mind how important your job is to you and the $$ you will make. (goal) That might help you get thru this too.

PS Massage is great. Problem is you can't get one everyday or every other day, ya know?:o)
