Hand Surgery?!

Question:

Hand Surgery?

When I was in first grade, I was writing with a mechanical lead pencil and I stabbed my palm and the lead broke into my palm and it's been there ever since. Skin grew over it, so now you can see a faint dark blue mark. I heard that having black anywhere on your palm is a bad sign... and I'm thinking of getting it surgically removed. Is this possible? If so, where do I go?

Answers:

I have the same thing on my inner right thigh, only it was a regular pencil, not mechanical. (And I can't remember how it got in that odd spot either, I think I slipped while carrying it or something.)
I just left it there and I've never had any problems, and if it's been there since first grade I don't think you need to bother scarring up your hand unless it's causing health problems for you.
