Severe headache and nausea. Went away with pain/nausea shots. Could this still b!

Question:

Severe headache and nausea. Went away with pain/nausea shots. Could this still be serious?

I woke up with a severe headahce and nausea. I felt like I couldn't lift up my head and I was throwing up bile. I went to the walk in clinic and I felt like I was gonna pass out. They gave me two shots, one for pain, one for the nausea. The symptoms went away shortly after and I went home and slept for about an entire day. Today I have no pain or nausea, but I still have a very faint sensation in my forhead where the pain was before. I simply cannot afford a CT scan right now, but I am afraid because while it was all going on the doctor said it could be something as serious as an anuerysm or menengitis. I was wondering if its possible that it could be theses things even though the major sypmtoms dissapeared. Would an anuerysm contiune to hurt when the meds wore off? Or is this a first time migraine and I'm worrying? Please help, I'm quite nervous. Thanks

Answers:

You seem to have a migraine. Some people get them regularly, some people get them once and never again. I doubt that its meningitis, that is very rare, and the symptomatic meningitis headache is accompanied with severe neck pain and stiffness to the point that you cant move. But, if you notice any purple splotches on your skin, go see your doctor IMMEDIATELY. An aneurysm would continue to be painful because of its constant pressure. If you're getting repeat migraines there are treatments such as Imatrex that deal with the nervous system to relieve headaches. If another one strikes, try Excedrine as opposed to Advil or Tylenol. I wouldn't worry for now, your symptoms are almost identical to a migraine I had, and it hasn't come back to this day.
