That depends on the Lab and the Doctor's office!
Cultures need to grow for 48 hours (or so)

if you also had a Sensitivity ordered, that will tell the Dr. which medicine will disable your particular bacteria...if any grew.
If you had a quickie or screening and cheaper test, you should know right away. These aren't very reliable though. Opt for the 48 hour C.&S.
If your culture is really pathogenic, doctor's office will receive a call from the lab to let them know. Then the doctor's office people should call you and let you know where or when to pick up a Rx for your ailment.
Also to schedule you for an office call to check your progress.
