Do chain pharmacies "talk" to to each other?!

Question:

Do chain pharmacies "talk" to to each other?

I fill my prescriptions at my local chain pharmacy where I have a somewhat personal relationship with the employees. I was recently prescribed antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications that I would prefer to have filled somewhere else as I would rather the people at my current pharmacy not know. But I don't want to transfer all my business to a new pharmacy, just these particular medications. I wouldn't want the new pharmacy to contact the current one because I wouldn't want them to think I was unhappy with their service. Thanks!

Answers:

There is nothing to stop you filling different prescriptions at different pharmacies. They are not allowed to communicate patient information to each other. However, you must make sure that there is one pharmacist who knows everything you are taking. There could be negative drug interactions that they won't know about if they are only doing part of your fulfillment.
