Well... the consensus of opinion seems to be that after a certain age we really dont need milk that much. But we Do need the Calcium AND Magnesium (in a 2-1 ratio, say some nutritionist experts). I take Calcium Magnesium capsules and a Multi-mineral capsule every day. Oh, BTW -- I am VERY lactose intolerant-- I can't even handle yogurt AND sometimes even LactAid!!)
Regular cheese is seomtimes easier to digest than milk - but not cottage cheese or runny milky stuff like that -- I'm thinking of harder cheeses.. but I may be wrong -- Im not a doctor, just an eater.
You might be lactose intolerant, too -- seeing a doctor is the first thing you should do. You can try LactAid products, Goat's milk products, soy milk with added calcium.
If you are a guy-type person <;-) too much soy milk might give you extra estrogen, since Soy has natural estrogen factors in it.
Heating milk (warm milk before bed) sometimes helps make it a bit more digestible Adding turmeric in small quantities has been said to be a good Ayurvedic digestive aid too.
Soy Yogurt is also very beneficial. I like it alot and it does not give me, ahem.. "problems... " that milk gives me (which in my case is the exact OPPOSITE of what you get......)
