Can eating too fast and too much as a teen cause problems later in life?!

Question:

Can eating too fast and too much as a teen cause problems later in life?

I am a 17 years old guy, I eat more than double what all my friends eat. I barely chew my food, and most of the time people wonder if I inhale it. I eat out once, maybe twice a month, and even then its something like subway. I eat mostly beef, chicken, fruits, vegies, nearly nothing with preservatives. Very little candy, and nearly no soda. I have been loosing fat, gaining muscle, and have had no adverse effects from my eating habits.

So the problem is that I have heard "rumors" that doing this can be very harmful later in life, and would like to know if I should change what I am doing?

Answers:

The thing to remember is that not everyone is the same, so comparing yourself to others is not always going to make you feel good.
If you are currently not overweight then you have nothing to worry about. You state that you have been losing fat and gaining muscle, thats great.
Remember that the more muscle you gain, the more you are probably going to eat, as there is more of you to feed.

As for how fast you eat, as long as you are comfortable that you are not being rude when you eat infront of other people, and you don't experience any heart burn or integestion, then there is nothing wrong with being a fast eater.
Enjoy the food!!!!
