Ear Candle Advice?!

Question:

Ear Candle Advice?

I've seen someone use an ear candle before -- and I know how it works through the vaccuum.

BUT, are they safe for your ears? How regularly can you use them? Do any models exist that you don't have to worry about the ash falling onto you?

Also, anyone know where to get them on the UWS of New York City? Thanks!

Answers:

I have used an ear candle before, and I wish I could give you some good feedback. They do work off of vacuum, and no there isn't a model where the ashes don't fall on you. I didn't get any relief from it. I have tried everything to get rid of earwax, and the problems it causes. The best thing I can say is this.... Unless you have normal, wide open ear canals, an ear candle isn't going to work for you. My ear canals are very narrow, and even a doctor has trouble getting into the inner part to effectively clean them. I recommend you go see an ear specialist if you have ear problems. I have my ears cleaned twice a year, and I don't have any more problems. I did until I set up regular cleanings.
Now, on the other hand, I have a couple of friends that swear by ear candles. They must fit into the perfect ear profile....

I got mine at GNC, I think you have them up there, but I am not sure. I live in Texas.

Good luck.

Stevo.
