There are some (many) conditions that can't be diagnosed from the description of a few symptoms. But those symptoms could be signs of a serious illness that needs to be confirmed / ruled out by a doctor.
Example: bleeding from the rectum, with change of stool pattern. Could be haemarroids and a change of eating pattern (no problem, can be solved with pharmacy products) or could be cancer. It would be irresponsible to have that knowledge and not encourage a trip to the doctor.
