What can i do to ease my pain?
i have a huge boil down inmy ear canal, i have suffered from boils since childhood, this one is covering the whole ear canal, i have no insurance so the doc is out, i am scaredt o mess with it given its location , any ideas on how to bring it to a head to relieve it would be great

Heat might bring it to a head, but I was told by a Doctor that most boils have either staph or strep origin, neither of which you want down your ear canal. All health food stores carry "ear candles" by one brand or another. If you say ear candle, they will know what you mean. It is cone shaped and you put the narrow end in your ear, and yes, you light the other end. This is definitely a project that you well need the help of a second person. The principle is that as the hollow wax burns down, a slight vacuum is created. That should prevent anything from going down your ear canal. I know. It sounds nuts. My clean freak son turned me on to them and said that was the only time he really felt clean. Hearing is a GOOD thing, so take the advice of another post here and go to the hospital emergency room if necessary. They will accept payments. I am sorry for your pain, I have only had a few ear aches in my life, and this sounds like torture.
