Tonsillitis?!

Tonsillitis?

I'm almost positive I have Tonsillitis right now, got a fever, got the shivers, yellow crap lining my tonsils, the works. So right before the Tonsillitis got really bad I got a sore on the side of my mouth. I've never had a cold sore in my life, so I don't really know if this is one, but someone told me that this could be an absess that arose from the Tonsillitis virus that came down to my mouth. But on the other hand, I did just start dating this girl a little more than a week ago, so it's quite possible that I just simply got herpes from her, then that weakened my immune system and thus gave me this Tonsillitis.

So, finally the question, have you ever heard of an absess appearing around the mouth from Tonsillitis, or is it just a cold sore?

well i've been looking at pictures of cold sores and this does not look like any of those. It doesn't protrude very much (except from where the scab ripped off) and is just looks like a red splotch. But when I open my mouth, a hole opens up and appears to be filled with puss. Do cold sores scab, because, whatever this is, is scabbing, and again none of the pictures had scabs on them.
So any help?
