I'm getting my tonsils taken out....?

I'm getting my tonsils taken out soon, I'm really scared that it would hurt! I'm also scared about all that stuff like not waking up after the operation or waking up during the operation...!?
Please help, I'm in a panic! (by the way, I'm 13)

I had mine taken out when I was 30. Everything went well after I got home. That's when the pain started. Take the pain killers they give you. And keep refrigerated water at hand. Very cold. Because once it hurts drinking things that are very cold calms the pain. While the liquid runs down your throat. Also chew on ice. It'll feel nice and cool. Don't worry about waking up these are professionals they know what they're doing. I imagine your doctor is a throat ear and nose specialist. That's the kind of doctor that operated on me.
