I think I have a gallbladder problem?!

Question:

I think I have a gallbladder problem?

I am Native American, slightly overweight, on birth control, and I eat lots of fatty foods. Today I was at my boyfriends and I had a bowl of ice cream and all of the sudden my gallbladder started to hurt. Also to rule out an one being stupid YES I KNOW WHERE MY GALLBLADDER IS. This is noting unusual for me this has been going on for a few months now. However this was the worest its ever been the first one lasted from 12:30-1:10 and the pains were sharp and shooting and lasted for around 1-3 minutes each time and they were about 3-5 minutes apart. The next one started at 2 and lasted for about an hour. These were worse(pain wise) and about spaced the same apart. They hurt so bad I would buckle over everytime I got a pain. Now heres the catch, I'm 16 almost 17. Everyone keeps telling me I am to young to get gallstones but now I am seriously questioning that. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Could it be something else? My mom who is an RN and has been for almost 30

years says she thinks they are gallstones. Can anyone help or share some stories about what they did for gallstones. My dad who is also native wants me to put a piece of Turqouise(spelling?) over my gallbladder everytime I have an attack but I seriously doubt that is going to work so any other thoughts?

Answers:

My sister had the same issue. Cut out the FAT right NOW.
Her too, always with the damn mayonnaise.

Indian bodies aren't built to run on much fat. It's only been a few hundred years since our diets changed. Even less for some of us.

I think there's some pills nowdays for it.

As for the turquoise , it couldn't hurt. Dad sounds like maybe he knows a lil somethin so give him credit.

ABSOLUTELY get to a doctor.
