How can my dd overcome her extreme aversion to patients vomiting so she can beco!

Question:

How can my dd overcome her extreme aversion to patients vomiting so she can become an ex-ray tech?

She is volunteering at the local hospital and loves all the other aspects of the job. She is to start community college in August and really wants to pursue this - any ideas to help her overcome this problem? It could be because she's never really been around people that throw up. We all have cast iron stomachs in our family. The kids (herself included) have only thrown up a few times in their life. Thanks for any help at all.

We both carefully researched this career choice - pros and cons and nothing at all was ever mentioned about the vomiting thing. It happens quite a bit. Believe me, it would have been a big red flag if we had even had an inkling . She has almost passed out twice. It's not just the smell, it's the retching noise and seeing the vomit come out.

Answers:

If you think the problem is that she just hasn't been exposed to vomiting enough to be okay with it, then I'd assume that tolerance would come over time.

I used to be really picky about bodily fluids, vomit, etc. However, a few years working in a nursing setting plus having 2 babies cured that out of necessity right away. :) Now nothing fazes me.
