Pimple behind ear piercing...infection?!

Question:

Pimple behind ear piercing...infection?

I got my ears pierced for the third time at the end of May this year. I was getting ready today to take the studs out for the first time when I felt a lump about the size of the earring on the back of my ear. It is rubbing against the back of the earring and it hurts A LOT. I didn't try to pop it, bu once I touched it it started to bleed. My ear is now really swollen to the point where I can't take the earring out or even try to turn it so the piercing won't close. What should I do?

I don't think I really specified..I haven't gotten them pierced 3 times in the same place...I have 3 piercings per ear.

Answers:

First off, get new earrings, the highest quality you can find. Sterling Silver, White Gold, etc. It could be the earring. Secondly, it may be an infection and it may lead to a keloid. Keloids are scar tissue and don't go away on their own, so you need to nip it in the bud now. Make sure you are cleaning it, and use Bactine, its the best way to fight the infection.
