Is there a way to become less of a deep sleeper?!

Question:

Is there a way to become less of a deep sleeper?

I'm a deep sleeper and dont wake up for anything when my eyes are shut. Most people I know when they hear a noise they jump up instantly. For me however I sleep through the noise and its making me feel quite uncomfortable. Is ther a way to alter my sleep patterns so that I dont get in such deep sleeps? If you know of any methods or anything that can help please let me know. Thanks alot.

Answers:

I used to be a deep sleeper too. I would sleep through ANYTHING. Now I get up at even the slightest peep. The main thing for me was having a baby. Your body gets put on high alert, even when you're sleeping.

But, I would NOT recommend having a baby to cure your deep sleeping!! ((haha))

Try going to bed at a reasonable hour, and while you're falling asleep, consciously think about sleeping lighter than you normally do.

Maybe even leave a night light or small desk lamp on or something to keep your bedroom a little lighter. You can also sleep with music on, just something mellow and soft in the background. The constant noise may keep you more awake than your normal deep sleep.

Sometimes though, if your body is just exhausted, then it needs the rest and deep sleep.
