i want to know if they are the same thats all
Answers:
Well, since the other two people have answered are in the health-care industry (too) and offered such thorough responses, I thought I'd add a little.
First, no, probiotic and antibiotic aren't the same thing.
an antibiotic is a medication (or herb/supplement) that has properties that stops all or certain bacteria from growing -- these are used to treat and prevent infections caused by bacteria.
Probiotic is something different -- it's FOR bacteria -- it helps, like after a strong antibiotic course, to re-establish the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract. Yogurt is an example of something probiotic, it has live acidopholus cultures -- that's good for digestion (and for yeast infections).
