Effectiveness of eucalyptus oil in infant cough?!

Effectiveness of eucalyptus oil in infant cough?

i heard that putting eucalyptus oil on an infant with cough on a pillow case helps prevent coughing at night...is it really that effective? coz i'm planning of trying it to my 5 month old baby tonight.

i hope it worked, but i would never try it on a child.


My mother believed in Vick's Vapo-rub ( sp?) and eucalyptus oil was a main ingredient.

Decades later, i still cough when i smell it - i think all the stuff as an infant caused me to develop an allergy.
