Are there any side effects to wearing contact lenses? Are there any dangerous long terms effects, or is it completely safe?

- Superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis

3. Cornea:
- Epithelium : Corneal abrasion , Corneal erosion , Corneal ulcer , Hypoxia
- Stroma : Infection and keratitis (Bacteria , Protozoa: Acanthamoeba , Fungal: Fusarium ) , Contact lens acute red eye (CLARE) , Keratoconus
- Endothelium

I'v been use soft lense for about 13 years now, i got a lot of advantages, like, my myopia didn't progress, etc.
The only side effect was about 10 years ago when my eye swollen. But that because i use it for about a month without cleans them.
