Question:
Toning my legs on my bike?
I am buying a new bike today because I want to tone up my legs (mainly the thigh area). I am a female, so I know there must be SOME amount of fat there... but not much. I work near a forest preserve with dirt trails, so I am buying either a mountain bike or a trail bike.
If I ride at least 1 hour every day, how long will it be (estimate) before I start noticing some serious results in more long, lean, toned thigh muscles?

You should start seeing results fairly quickly (in a week or so). Be sure to do hill climbing, that is best for your legs. Also, watch what you eat/drink after exercising. No Alcohol, lots of protein.
