I don't know what's wrong...could it be RLS?!

Question:

I don't know what's wrong...could it be RLS?

well my feet have been burning at night. i have to like put the air conditioning on so low that i freeze but my legs still burn.( and if the AC is off i completely lose it) i hardly get any sleep...
it started when i was on a drug, i can't remeber the name...my mom used to massage my legs with cold cream, and that helped a little. and then i went off the drug so i just figured it had to do with a side affect. and it did stop for a while. but now its back and since its summer its worse than ever.
i am also 15 so i don't know if RLS is common at that age.
i heard about RLS but i'm not sure if that what i have.
(i asked my docter and he said its a side affect, and if i want he'll run tests...)its really frightining...is everything ok?
thank you so much!

but it can't be a side affect! because i'm off the medication for already 4 months! and i do move my feet all the time looking for somewhere comfortable to put my feet because it burnes and i just can't stop moving for comfort. i haven't had a good night sleep in 3 days. and my docter won't do anything about it... so i'm stuck. tired and stuck.

Answers:

No, RLS is usually a condition for middle-age + people. RLS is a feeling of HAVING to move your legs. You can't keep them still at all. But that doesn't mean your pain and hot feet don't exist!

If your doctor said it is a side effect of the medication you were on and stopping it, then I would believe him. If it continues and doesn't get better, you have to let him know so he can do more tests. Don't worry. Have your mom get you some Epsom salts (there about $2.00 for a big container) and put some cool (not cold) water in the tub with some Epsom salts and soak them for about 30 minutes before you go to bed. That should cool and calm your feet so you can get to sleep.
Make sure you keep yourself hydrated and eat a banana ever day. Sometime low potassium can make your legs hurt. 1 banana a day can help that, too. (Don't eat a lot of bananas thinking if 1 is good 5 will be better. It doesn't work that way.)
