Eye Ulcers, what causes them?!

Question:

Eye Ulcers, what causes them?

I had to get antibiotic ointment for my eye a few weeks ago. It had went red and a little white speck appeared on my cornea. Now three more stingy white specks have appeared on my other eye. :( I had been a wearer of soft contact lenses, but since the first ulcer I have stopped using them.

Answers:

Well contact lenses are one of the causes for eye ulcers, so good idea not to be wearing them anymore, but if you are getting a problem with the other eye go back to your ophthalmic eye casualty department and get it checked out as soon as you can! You should have been given a follow up appointment from your first visit to keep a check on whether the ulcer was clearing up and the fact that it has now affected your other eye means you need more treatment.
