If I go to bed by 10pm, will I need less sleep than if I went to bed at 12am?!

Question:

If I go to bed by 10pm, will I need less sleep than if I went to bed at 12am?

Between 10pm-2am the body does it's physical repair and the rest of the night focuses on psychological repair. Those beginning hours are more restful I believe than any other of the night.

Would it stand to reason that if I slept at that time I would need less sleep than if I went to bed at midnight? Or would I still need to sleep the same amount?

Answers:

I always seem to sleep the same amount. I.E I can go to bed at 11 get up around 7, around 9 and get up around 5, etc. Just go to bed when you're tired and get up when you feel most refreshed. Your body will fall into its own natural sleep cycle. Do not rely on what the experts say. They base their info on average data collected form thousands of people. It varies among individuals.
If you are tired at ten, just go to bed - if not feel free to stay up as long as you need. Your doctor will probably have more information.
