I found a tick on me...now what?

I grabbed it off (I know...I was supposed to do that carefully...instincts got in the way). I saved the tick.

Do I have to bring it to the lab? Doctor? etc.

The most important thing to do is note on your calendar the date you found the tick. If you have an unexplained fever within the next two weeks let your doctor know about the tick. Sounds like you got it off before it embedded.
